Even the Habsburg Emperor Franz Joseph I always enjoyed his breakfast with a preference for fresh, crispy rolls - hence the name "Kaisersemmel". This fine Viennese white pastry was distributed in all cities in honor of his birthday on August 18th. In keeping with this tradition, rolls and other baked goods were even made from porcelain as charming decorations for the imperial table.

The Augarten porcelain manufactory has now revived this tradition by adding the deceptively real “Kaisersemmel” to its range as a porcelain tin.
