Collection: Olivier Hölzl

Olivier Hölzl, born on April 11, 1979 in Innsbruck, studied painting in Johanna Kandl's class at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since then he has worked with many media. Based on an idea that won't let him go, he decides on a medium.

Recently he devoted himself primarily to sculpture.

Thanks to his now well-known large-format and elaborately cut stencils, which he stages either as light installations or in the form of murals, the artist travels around the world.

The artist translates profound themes in a multisensory way: he allows the viewer to discover new or different realities.
His extensive work also acts like an archive that attempts to document our era in a brutally honest and cosmopolitan way.

Hölzl wanders between white cubes, galleries, off-spaces, street art festivals and slums. In 2021 and 2022, the artist's works were represented in Cologne, Madrid, New York, Saarbrücken, Uzice, Rubin-Kazan, Berlin, Cluj and Vienna.
