Felix Muhrhofer, born in Vienna in 1975, studied Industrial/Interior Design in his hometown at the University of Applied Arts and also in Barcelona at ELISAVA.
Immediately after completing his studies, he was able to set up his first workshop in the garage of a good friend. This first workshop opened up many opportunities for him to turn his ideas into reality. This enabled him to immediately test his design drafts for their tactile qualities, aesthetics and feasibility. Felix Muhrhofer is constantly developing this analogue working method by learning many craft techniques, such as welding, soldering, turning, casting and stone grinding.
The result is objects and furniture that combine a strong sense of form with the economy of a handcrafted manufacturing process.
His unique designs, which give great space to the charisma of the materials used, are still made by hand by Felix Muhrhofer in his workshop, which is now located on a farm near Vienna.
Muhrhofer himself collects a variety of stones from the places he travels, from which the terrazzo surfaces are made. His constantly growing stone collection includes gravel from the southernmost rock in Africa - the Cape of Good Hope - to pebbles from the Danish island of Langeland.
